Napoleon sat at his desk pondering. It had been a quiet morning. His partner was in the lab doing his first love, playing in the science field. Though he, himself, could not understand it, he was fascinated in the way it brought a shine to his friend's eyes.
Oh he was good in the field, but when it came to beakers and test tubes, and mathematical formulas, Illya was in his element.
At least he was aware of this with his partner, used it much to his advantage on their missions. Illya was good, very good.
So now that he was aware of that his morning had been a complete bore, he decided to check up on his friend and see if he would like to get a bite of lunch.
Standing, he put on his suit coat and straightened his sleeves. Leaving his office he made his way along the corridor to the elevators, saying hello in passing to fellow co-workers and winking at potential Solo victims.
He entered the laboratory level and made his way to Illya's lab. He entered finding Illya and two assistants mulling over something on the far table.
As if instinctively Illya looked up to see Napoleon standing inside the doorway. He said something to his assistants and moved away to join Napoleon.
"Good," Illya looked at his watch seeing it announce 12:15, "afternoon. Is there a problem?"
"No, no. Just came to see if you would like to get away for awhile, some lunch outside somewhere."
Illya smiled, a rare thing. "That sounds good. I was just showing them an old school trick in science."
"So you have nothing pressing today?"
"No, not really. We were just cleaning the lab, seeing what supplies we need to restock." Illya took off his lab coat. On lab days, he tended to sport his black slacks, and black turtle neck.
Napoleon started to formulate a plan. "Tell them to continue inventory, you might not be back today then."
"Napoleon?"
"I'm thinking of playing some hooky. I've been totally bored out of my head in my office this morning. And since you have nothing pressing…"
Illya told his associates to continue on and if they needed him to call him. He left following Napoleon to the elevators.
